Harwinton, CT — March 9, 2012— CAL Business Solutions Inc, a Connecticut Microsoft Dynamics ERP software partner, released a new case study highlighting the success of Thor, a Shelton, Connecticut based distributor using Microsoft Dynamics GP (formerly Great Plains) accounting software.

Thor is a multinational manufacturer and distributor of specialty chemicals. The company had been using Microsoft Dynamics® SL (Solomon) for several years but new releases of the software are focused on project accounting which is not their core business.  As the business grew, it faced the choice of a major upgrade or a new ERP software package.  Thor felt Microsoft Dynamics® GP (Great Plains) had the right focus on the distribution that they needed.   They were delighted to learn that they qualified for a Product Line Transition, which is a full investment credit from Microsoft to move from Dynamics SL to Dynamics GP.

FMT has been servicing Lone Star Park through its former parent company, Magna Entertainment Corporation for almost 10 years. When Global Gaming Solutions acquired the track, they wanted to go with a partner that had the industry experience that assured them of future success. “It was an easy decision to stick with FMT because they have always provided us with outstanding customer service and guidance toward the best practices for our Microsoft Dynamics platform,” Matt Jusko, IT Director at Lone Star Park.
